　　號稱(chēng)是美國七十年代最非著(zhù)名的一部科幻電影杰作導演索爾·巴斯是設計師還曾兩次獲過(guò)奧斯卡獎但不知為何這部經(jīng)典的心理科幻片至今都沒(méi)出DVD　　Desert ants suddenly form a collective intelligence and begin to wage war on the desert inhabitants. It is up to two scientists and a stray girl they rescue from the ants to destroy them. But the ants have other ideas.　　Phase IV is an incredible full length feature film by Saul Bass who is most acclaimed as a graphic designer who's work can be seen as the opening credits from The Seven Year Itch, Vertigo, West Side Story to Alien, Broadcast News and Casino. Phase IV is a much overlooked film that is very much in the style of The Andromeda Strain. What it perhaps lacks in story, it gains in the photography of the millions of ants.　　索爾·巴斯美國動(dòng)畫(huà)片繪制家、美工師、導演1920年5月8日生于紐約市少年時(shí)曾經(jīng)在布魯克林學(xué)院學(xué)習繪畫(huà)畢業(yè)后從事過(guò)十年自由職業(yè)設計師的職業(yè)1946年在洛杉磯創(chuàng )立索爾·巴斯合作公司他在為一些影片進(jìn)行美術(shù)設計時(shí)猜出心裁地為片頭片尾的演職人員表配上生動(dòng)活潑的動(dòng)畫(huà)人物這些動(dòng)畫(huà)人物的形態(tài)動(dòng)作巧妙地提示了影片的主題反映了影片的基調從而使單調乏味的演職人員表和諧地成為了影片不可或缺的一部分這種大膽的創(chuàng )新豐富了電影的表現形式廣受觀(guān)眾們的喜愛(ài)其后為不少?lài)业挠捌赜?索爾·巴斯設計片頭片尾的影片以《卡門(mén)·瓊斯》(1955)、《紅衣主教》(1963)等片最為著(zhù)名此外他還監制和導演了很多電視廣告片、動(dòng)畫(huà)片片和紀錄片如《敏銳的眼光》(1963)、《第四相》(1974)等
